Build a Bankroll at Tiger Gaming

Thanks for coming to my new site! Every couple of weeks I will write an article about something related to online poker. Today I want to talk about Tiger Gaming, a skin of the Action Poker network. Note: this site is not open to American players.

Tiger Gaming features a clean looking site that is easy on the eyes. Similar to the PokerStars bonus code, the deposit bonus is huge, and you should be able to clear it in a short period of time. You should find the customer support quite accommodating when you have a problem. What makes Tiger Gaming unique from other sites is that it has some different games that you can’t find in any other poker room. These include the "poker" game of Guts (very loosely called poker), the classic card game Big 2, as well as Chinese Poker and Pan. You won’t find Internet slots here, but the other games are so fun that you won’t want to waste your time with casino games anymore.

I haven’t talked about actual poker yet! Tiger Gaming has Limit and No Limit Holdem, Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and extremely low traffic 7 Card Stud tables.

Tiger Gaming has recently been advertising aggressively in Canada, encouraging people to try online poker in commercials on various TV networks. It looks like they thought that Canada is full of players ready to try their hand on money poker sites. The aggressive campaign is still going on and has resulted in a poker site full of Canadians, many of whom really can't play poker well at all.

Traffic can be bad at times, especially if you play mid or high stakes. But if you are a low stakes player just getting started on download free poker sites, you should be able to find plenty of action from 2 to 25NL. You will usually have three to six 25NL tables to choose from, for example. The same can’t be said for finding 50NL tables. If you are lucky there will be one open, on rare occasions two tables. Finding no-limit games higher than this is next to impossible. 100NL pretty much never runs, and when it does, there’s only one table. I have never seen the NL1000 table populated in my time at the site, so these players will just have to download Full Tilt Poker.

Another bad thing about this site is that there isn’t a lot of traffic for non-Holdem games. 7 Card Stud is available for those interested, but its tables remain empty day after day. Omaha is almost as bad. Occasionally there is one table of Omaha running, and it’s usually Pot Limit with 20 cent blinds. If you prefer these games, you should download PokerStars instead. If we’re talking about the unique games (like Big 2), you won’t have trouble finding a game during the busy hours. As Tiger is the only place that offers them, the traffic is much better. The classic gambling game of Guts often runs two or three tables at once, with min bets between $0.10 and $0.50.

To sum it up, the player base on Tiger Gaming is okay if you are a lower stakes player, but it’s also nothing to write home about. If you’re new to poker, you should first start your bankroll at Tiger and then go ahead and try a Bwin Poker download once you’re ready to move up in stakes.
